What is the biggest concern Americans face about adoption? The child's race? The length the child has been in child care? The child's mental health?

According study commissioned by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Americans are most concerned about the health and mental status of the child up for adoption. Fewer than 50% of respondents stated they would be likely to consider adopting a child with behavioral problems.

The study also revealed that respondents were less concerned about the race and age of the child. Over 75% of respondents stated they would be willing to adopt a child of a different race than their own.
